🎯Key Responsibilities

• Execute & Maintain: Own the day-to-day operations of our high-availability VMware clusters. Ensure vCenter and ESXi environments are patched, optimized, and performing at peak levels.
• Automation Advocate: Write and maintain Ansible playbooks, Python scripts, and PowerCLI workflows to eliminate manual tasks. You will be expected to turn routine procedures into automated pipelines.
• Observability & Logging: Actively use Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack to monitor system health and analyze logs. You don't just wait for an alert; you look for trends and proactively resolve issues.
• Operational Storage: Manage Hitachi Storage arrays and SAN fabric. You will handle LUN provisioning, zoning, and perform initial troubleshooting on storage-related performance bottlenecks.
• Linux Mastery: Leverage your strong Linux background to troubleshoot Guest OS issues, optimize kernel parameters, and manage internal services.
• Data Integrity: Manage backup and replication jobs using Veeam, ensuring that our disaster recovery RPO/RTO targets are always met.
• Resource Tracking: Assist the Lead Engineer in capacity planning by generating detailed utilization reports and identifying where resources are being over-provisioned.
• Open Source Exploration: Be part of the team evaluating and testing OpenStack, Proxmox, or KVM for future workloads.

💻 What You’ll Do

• Virtualization: 3+ years of experience managing VMware vSphere environments in a production setting.
• Scripting & Automation: Intermediate to Advanced skills in Python and Ansible. You should be comfortable writing scripts that interact with APIs.
• DevOps Tooling: Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK. Familiarity with Git (GitLab/GitHub) for managing your scripts.
• Storage & SAN: Practical knowledge of Block Storage, SAN switching, and management of enterprise arrays (experience with Hitachi is a huge plus).
• Linux Skills: Solid understanding of Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL), shell scripting, and system performance tools.
• Hardware Management: Experience with IPMI and managing physical server hardware lifecycle.
• Backup Solutions: Proficiency in managing enterprise backup tools like Veeam.
