🍕 Database Team at Turknet

We’re looking for experienced  Junior Database Administrator to join our game changer team.

💻Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL and time-series databases like MongoDB and InfluxDB
• Support database installation, initial configuration, and update processes
• Contribute to database backup and restore operations
• Follow basic data security principles and support the implementation of related security procedures
• Perform routine database maintenance and monitoring tasks with tools such as Percona, Idera, Zabbix, or similar; report issues to senior team members when necessary
• Support capacity planning and basic performance analysis efforts through data review and reporting
• Provide assistance to application development teams on database-related topics and contribute to data modeling documentation
• Assist with database deployment scenarios in collaboration with technical teams
• Gain experience with High Availability (HA) solutions by observing and supporting
• Participate in periodic database performance checks; identify simple performance issues and report findings
• Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation related to database standards and security procedures

👩 👨  Who You Are

• Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL; eager to gain hands-on experience in managing these systems
• Familiar with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, or willing to learn and work with different data models
• Awareness of basic database performance concepts (e.g., indexing, query optimization); interested in developing tuning skills
• Comfortable working with both Windows and Linux operating systems at a basic level
• Exposure to or interest in learning database monitoring tools such as Idera, Zabbix, or similar
• Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and repository management
• Open to learning about Disaster Recovery (DR) concepts, container technologies (e.g., Docker), Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
